During the last week of September 2016, in line with the recent initiative of (Safe Motorbike Riding) the Government of Sindh, in collaboration with Atlas Honda Limited, SMILE of Lahore & SORRY of Karachi held the following activities:
Seminar for 700 students of class IX to XII in Bahria Auditorium for Navy personnel, Awareness through talks and distribution of “Riding Safely” leaflets at 2 schools and at a traffic police post.
This has been prepared as an ongoing activity for the next few months in various institutes and at other departments of repute. (Later in various cities of the province) The following activities are being planned:
Every Month, One Seminar for a larger audience, Short lectures at schools and institutes, Distribution of safety leaflets as roadside activity, One (30 hours) Theoretical and practical riding training for 80 to 100 potential riders, Short low-cost quality “Courses on Road Sense” of different categories (about 8 to 15 hours) for those seeking a driving license or applying for renewal of their driving license, Free Helmet for participants showing outstanding performance.
Later in collaboration with city administration and traffic police Roadside camp for FREE replacement of missing or nonoperational motorcycle lights, indicators, or mirrors. Various safety campaigns and awareness leaflets for the same to be distributed are also planned.
